[cross-project-issues-dev] Archiving releases

Hi

Since it is the quiet week, I've been looking at archiving and
discovering that my new Tycho builds do not provide the index.php that
ensures that the archive is viewable.

e.g. [1] provides a useable directory listing rather than a 404.

I've often copied index.php from archive to archive and after some
investigation [2] suggests that the source of my index.php was:

/cvsroot/technology/org.eclipse.dash/athena/org.eclipse.dash.commonbuilder/org.eclipse.dash.common.releng/staticDropFiles/index.php

This is obviously very old technology. Is there something better these days?

The 404 page from download.eclipse.org/archive.eclipse.org is better than
the generated pages. It has a "Show directory content" link that allows to
browse the repo and show the actual files in it. When on a p2 repo, there
is even an explanation of how to use the current repo to install software.

Hi Mickael

Am I blind (again)?

I see no "Show directory content" link on
download.eclipse.org/archive.eclipse.org
<http://download.eclipse.org/archive.eclipse.org> and a Firefox search
on the page for "Show" finds nothing.

Hi

Found it. archive.eclipse.org
<http://download.eclipse.org/archive.eclipse.org> but not
download.eclipse.org/archive.eclipse.org
<http://download.eclipse.org/archive.eclipse.org> has a Show Directory
Contents.

I'll delete old index.php's and leave my Tycho builds as is.

Thanks.

You won't see "Show Directory Contents" if there's no directory
underneath the URL.

http://download.eclipse.org/technology/ will have the link.

http://download.eclipse.org/bacon will not, as it is a 404 Not Found
